Taking short steps through the streets, A man of normal height seemed to stroll down them, watching the streets around him simply, as in moving his head every now and again to check that no one was behind him, to his side or even anywhere near him. Running his hand through his hair he looked towards the street lamp before him, watching as a small raven seemed to sit upon it basking in the moon’s light. Oh! There were quite a few surroundings, but none of them particularly important or anything new to him. Dark eyes seemed to scan the area again as he continued to walk, at a normal speed of such. At the moment he was wearing, a light purple coloured jacket, and a pair of jeans… the normal for Xander to be quite honest. Drifting into a daydream he seemed to walk down the street in a sort of drifting off way. Well it was quite boring and quite a walk, especially since Buffy had assigned Xander the ‘graveyard shift’ quite explaining the stake that was in his pocket, no, of course he wasn’t a slayer, he was just ‘lucky’ to be one of her friends.
As the clouds swept over the moon, the tarmac road seemed to shimmer a bit in the constantly moving moon, well actually... it was the clouds that were making it look like it was moving, I mean what kind of mad person would think the moon actually moved? Xander turned the next corner before stopping to take a breath, quite a conveniently placed bench being the perfect place to stop. He didn’t actually know why he was walking back to Buffy’s after all she would probably be out on her duties by the time he got there… Quite stupid really. Yawning he looked around again, making sure the stake was in his pocket. Why he was assigned to go out he didn’t know, after all. He was a useless slayer.

“Boo.” Melissa’s hands clamped over Xander’s eyes as he sat down, her breath probably tickling his neck as she rested there, trying to make her ‘prey’ panic. She knew perfectly well who poor old Xander was, but it didn’t make a difference, she was hungry. And being hungry meant she fed, whether it be one of the Scooby gang nice enough to provide the blood for it all. She wasn’t the most sane vampire around, but she’d been infamous atone point in Sunnydale after she’d taken part in a mass feeding with another vampire who was more then a companion. It had been almost hilarious as the humans had opened the warehouse doors to find the countless bodies of the children and adults alike they had rounded up. Even more so when they’d found the petrified survivors near the back, huddled behind crates. If you hadn’t guessed, Melissa hadn’t been all there for a while now. It had brought its problems, though; she was no longer fully anonymous. She had her own few pages in the average slayer’s text books, full of psychological break downs, thoughts on what made her tick, a vague history and a listing of her sire… But he’d been an ally of the Scooby gang at one point, though he wasn’t any more. Pity. She’d returned for his advice. But here she was, hands wrapped around Xander’s face, predatory smile on her pallid features.
The moon was the only real light she was used to by now, skirting round the edges of the street lamps and kicking at the animals stupid enough to cross her meandering path. She looked nothing like her sire, with long, brunette locks and a more varied clothing style. Today she was wearing a small dress, much like the ones the simpering girls wore to the nightclubs dotted around Sunnydale, black with pretty golden sequins sown on in elegant patterns. She, if she didn’t say so herself, looked quite good. She shared the characteristic, how ever, of the higher cheek bones.

Xander had been sat down for quite a while now, well, a few seconds, but god did it seem like ages. Closing his eyes he yawned and stretched back on the bench, nearly falling of as he did so. Then he reopened his eyes to look up at the moon, only to be attacked a few seconds later, quite a panic had passed through him as Melissa clamped her hands over his eyes and had said ‘boo’, it was probably that part that made him jump the most. Unknown reasons…Gah, in a way he hope this was buffy, but for some reason didn’t think it was “Buffy?” he said simply, trying to keep his wits about him… after all. If this was someone he’d much rather not know, maybe he’d manage to identify them? Ah who was he kidding? For a moment, he was wondering why he had actually sat down in the first place, after all. It was the middle of the night, the only light was the light from the crap street lights which would randomly switch themselves on and off. And the light of which was generated by the sun’s light shining of the moon. His breathing was now back to normal, thank god, but yet he still feared who was behind him, wanting to turn around, yet not wanting too at the same time. Quite waiting for a reply from the ‘attacker’.

Peering around a huge pile of books, a girl pouted in a childish fashion. "Nothing. Zero. Nada." She sighed, raising her hand to rub at tired eyes. "Can't I go now?" She added as an afterthought. She recieved only silence as a reply from the other girl in the Library with her. 'Take that as a no.' Anya sighed inwardly, making a big fuss of doing a stretch. Running a hand through her blondey/brown hair, Anya groaned, leafing through yet another book. She and Willow were on the research shifts. Buffy was out...somewhere. Presumably slaying, though Anya had no idea what the Slayer was doing. She swiftly stood, heading straight out of the Library and out of the School. Her mind was focused on where she was headed...
Meanwhile, a creature, lurking in shadows, watched the two with mild interest. Keeping to the shadows, to avoid recognition from either the mortal or the vampire, Kelia (pronounced : key-lee-uh), sighed inwardly. She was also a vampire; currently looking for someone from the 'Scooby Gang' to drink from. She had caught sight of Xander and, as she was about to make a move and attack him, that darn Melissa had intervened. "Just what I need." Kelia muttered under her breath, glaring at Melissa with a dagger-like glare.
"I think you'd better move away from them both." A girl growled from behind her, and Kelia felt a sharp wooden object pierce her back slightly. Hissing venemously, Kelia turned to face the girl, and sighed inwardly once more. A vengeance demon; one of the Slayer's little side-kicks. Just what she needed. "How about a little blood for lil' ol' me then?" Kelia inquired in a simpering voice, eyes trained on the stake pointed directly at her heart. She knew she shouldn't verbally push the girl, Anya, for bad things happened to those who pushed Vengeance Demons. Especially vengeance demons whom were friendly with the Slayer...
"How about not." Another girl stood nearby, and Kelia felt herself pushed up against a wall. Snarling angrily, she allowed her face to revert to it's vampire form as her eyes lay on Buffy.
Buffy handed Anya a cross, and the vengeance demon quickly pressed the cross close to kelia, whom hissed. Buffy glared at the female vampire, utterly furious...

“Audience said? Nu-uh.” Mimicking the old English TV show, Melissa grinned sadistically as Xander guessed wrong, the grip round his face tightening. She’d enjoyed the moment where his heart had started to pound faster, savouring the moment. What could she say? She liked to play with her food, it was so much more enjoyable then simply getting what she wanted and then leaving. Some thing taught to her by more then a few vampires across the ages. At least she didn’t play with hers with rail road spikes, like some people… “Two more chances.” Though Xander couldn’t see it, a glimmer was dancing in Melissa’s eyes, waiting for him to fail once more and then probably again, either way he’d end up as a nice snack sooner or later. Just to tease him, she let her face twist into the mask she wore as a true vampire. “Give you a hint, shall I?” It wasn’t a proper bite, nothing more then a small nip, not enough to draw blood, but enough to let him get the gist that she owned some nice fangs that would love to bite into his supple neck. Then she was back to normal, tapping her foot to an imaginary rhythm. Just a game…
‘How about not.’
The words drifted over the night air, Melissa had heard the words between the other vampire and Anya, but had put it down to a couple, not concentrating on defending herself but taunting Xander. Buffy’s words she heard clearly and her grip on Xander did nothing but increase as a warning for him not to call out, she knew the slayer was coming now, but it was so much more fun for her to see as her little friend became vampire treats. Her eyes wandered to the form of Buffy appearing from the shadows, watching with an animal like concentration that showed she wasn’t all there right now. (Please leave your message after the tone.) She did nothing but snicker, the smile on her face growing into a confident grin.

“Crap…” this however was muttered much under Xander’s breath, just because he could and such. “Okay, so..” he said simply before thinking “Anya? Willo-“ He stopped then, obviously thinking somewhat more thoughtfully after all, she had just said ‘two more chances’ Crap, that meant he had, well it depended on if she counted his half of an answer. “A hint? Fine..” he said simply before waiting for the hint, That was then of course, he felt her fangs on his neck, darn. “Ok, I give up… who are you?” quite hoping that this would only be someone who had come a little early for Halloween.
Was it Xander or was her grip increasing? That was when he heard Buffy’s voice of course “Hey buffy?” He said simply, not loudly but yet, loud enough for her to hear from that distance away, at the moment. More than anything, Xander just wanted to be able to look around again, or at least see some type of light, oh that would be nice. Trying to listen into Buffy’s conversation at the same time as trying to stop worrying at who was behind him proved pretty hard. After all, Multi-tasking is hard.
OoC: Ok, I’m soo sorry about this crappy post. Had nothing much else to post about :3

Buffy heard the voice of Xander calling out, and turned her attention towards the sound. She was sure it was two figures she could see...Xander and someone else. "Xander?" Buffy inquired, nodding to Anya before moving towards what she thought was Xander. Her pupils dilated according to the light and she realised upon drawing closer that it was indeed Xander and someone else. The other thing had it's hands over his eyes, and Buffy felt a strong bubble of loathing grow inside her. The only thing she could think of that would make her so angry was a vampire.
Anya watched silently as Buffy moved hesitantly towards the two figures, momentarily forgetting about the vampire she'd been holding at bay. Seeing a ripe chance to escape, Kelia did just that, running off to be swallowed up by the darkness. Hearing the sound of the vampire's footsteps leading away, Anya slowly started after her friend...

Oo-er, ickle Xander-kins had called out for Buffy. Melissa had been haphazard allowing him to have his voice, but how else could he guess? He knew he’d gotten the second one wrong and half of the third one too. She would allow him one more chance to right his choices before the bite; she was quite enjoying it all. Plus, it’d be so much more fun to bite him in full sight of the slayer and his little ex. She watched as Buffy approached with her human face on, her eyes watching her with a malicious glint in her eyes. ‘Xander?’ “Xander is busy at the moment, if you wish to contact him then you’ll have to cram it up your ass. There is no tone.” Melissa answered for him, face not switching like it should when she was being that aggressive, but the words were snarled slightly, making it sound like she had. It was a very odd combination and possibly a result of flawing in her personality combinations, it meant she either didn’t feel the need to switch faces or that she was having difficulty doing so. The first seemed more likely, but it was still unusual, usually when vampires got aggressive their faces instantly switched with out control. But still she stood there, looking more like a severely pissed off girlfriend or floozy then a vampire about to feed. Cocking an eye brow while waiting for a reply, she kept her hands clamped over his eyes, more to protect the chance of gaining some food then any thing else.
Hunger was the driving emotion right now.
She had spotted the other vampire flee, coward. If she’d had any real vampire fibre she would have at least tried a punch up or a smart ass comment, a real one. Shaking her head to another imaginary tune, one with considerable catchiness, she continued to watch the two approaching Scooby Gang members, her brown hair bobbing along as her head shook. “Where’s that witch? Off trying to hit on Dawnie?” Well, she was either mad or considerably cocky, because it was certainly doubtful whether any other vampire would have tried that line. But, if Buffy hadn’t guessed how borderline to insane Melissa was at this point then she was a few screws short too.

Oh yay! More chances! What a pleasure? A sigh emerged Xander’s mouth, probably still in complete thought. This wasn’t right, Xander didn’t get to know vampires, and even vampires that he got to know ended up either hating him, or him hating them. Spike for example. Crap He couldn’t do this, it was pretty much impossible for him to name a vampire and get it right. Oh, maybe she would let him off if he said he couldn’t guess as he was having a bit of a ‘brain cramp’? Ha! The chance in that “I don’t know many vampires… maybe you can let me off this time?” His voice was hopeful, but yet seemed to be in the same old Joking Xander tone.
Shifting a bit on the bench he hoped Buffy was still there, and hadn’t gone running of after another vampire. Xander sighed, hoping Buffy would save his ass. After all that was the way it always was right? Wait… Why didn’t he just /try/ to get away? Maybe he would have a burst of luck and would be able to get away? Nah. After all, Xander wasn’t special infact, he was just normal. As he had given many speeches to Dawn about how normal people had harder life’s especially when they knew about the existence of Vampires… Hell to that. Xander certainly had something to think about right now, actually. He had many things to think about, some less important than the others. Ignoring somewhat the last comment made by melissa.

Buffy continued to slowly move towards Xander and Melissa, her mind working vigorously. By the arrogance Melissa's voice held, Buffy guessed she was a vampire. "He's not busy and you're going to leave." Buffy snapped, moving ever closer. She was about four or five metres from them now, and stopped, glaring at Melissa with her arms folded against her chest. Anya followed more cautiously, being more sensible and sticking behind the Slayer.
Buffy visibly angered at the final comment from Melissa. "What do you know about Dawn?" She hissed, coming forth another few steps. Anya, behind her, looked rather nervous at the anger radiating from her friend. She looked towards Xander, wondering how to get him away...

Melissa snorted as Buffy told her she was going to leave. Was she now? She didn’t feel like leaving, she wanted food and a nice, warm place to cat nap in. Ooh, nap. Maybe she would go to the Bronze and get her food from there? It’d be buzzing with young men who wanted a piece of meat for the night and there was always a nice place for her to snuggle down and nap with another vampire there. She knew a vampire that hung around there quite often, he was alright, he made sure she found something to sink her teeth in and then she’d slink back stage to sleep in a corner. Yum. As she was thinking about this her eyes seemed to glaze over, her face practically reading like a ‘vacant’ sign. She needed to go there later any way, he owed her a favour, and it was the perfect place to meet up with her own little ‘children’. But she already had her hands on a delicious looking guy with a nice, supple neck… Her face clicked back to the one of before, features reading as though she had become quickly bored at the situation. Her grip on Xander loosened and her hands snaked down to wrap affectionately round his neck, resting her head cheekily on his shoulder. “Would you rather come with me to some place, fun? Or stay hanging around in the cold?” She whispered in an almost enchanting way. She was no Drusilla, she couldn’t get people to hang onto her like puppets, but she was just as charming.
If Xander cared to look towards her he’d see that she was smiling in what looked like a ‘butter wouldn’t melt in my pretty little mouth’ way. She ignored both Buffy and Anya, seemingly having never even seen them, or pretending she hadn’t. Ha, ha. Maybe it would be interesting to see how the Scooby Gang would deal with being ignored.

“Yep, I’m not really all that busy…” his reply was almost computerized, as if it was meant to be said at that point of time. Oh how he hoped to be ‘saved’ by the slayer now, or even another of the Scooby gang. Oh let there be light! Finally Xander could see again, ‘bout time to if he could add. That was of course before realizing the vampire, Melissa was still there. Looking around to make sure Buffy was still there, also realizing Anya standing there also he took a breath of relief before looking back towards Melissa again, watching as she rested her head on his shoulder.
“Well most of the time I don’t often hang around with vampires, especially when they scare the hell outta me…But..”
Thoughts ran through his head at that moment, maybe he could get some good information for Buffy from them, quite a good idea actually. Yet he still seemed to think about it for a reason… probably because he may not actually come back to tell the tale. But hey, he always had that thought in his head whenever he had to go out on the nigh time shift for Buffy. “Okay…” he said simply, looking towards Buffy as if to tell her something, But hey he was no Willow. He wouldn’t be able to talk to her through his mind after all. He just forced on a fake smile as if to say something… Hoping somehow that Buffy would get it instead of rushing in to slay the vampire and such. Oh how odd, Xander with a good idea?

Buffy was furious, but a calming hand was placed on her arm. Anya. Anya looked just as furious, but the hand calmed Buffy immensely. It calmed her enough to look at Xander, into his eyes, and read his open thoughts. He wanted to get them information...thats what his look clearly portraid. Buffy decided to play along... "Okay...I'm sorry if I jumped to any conclusions. Perhaps you aren't a vampire after all. Perhaps you are merely a lover of Xander's." Buffy forced an apology from a reluctant mouth, only able to supress a deep urge of wishing to leap over to Melissa and stake her...

She scared the hell out of him? Great! She could have practically purred at the statement. In fact, she came pretty darn close to doing just that, as unhinged as she was. She might be off her rocker but she certainly wasn’t stupid and she picked up on the fact it was all too good to be true. Like Buffy Summers would let Xander walk off with some random hostile girl at the dead of night after she’d just told her to ‘shove it up your arse’. No, this seemed to be a poorly acted attempt t0 convince Melissa that Xander would be all willing. She could practically snort in their faces. Delusional and crazy were different- just because she was on the last threads of sanity didn’t mean that she was completely blind to the truth. But she’d play along, it could be nice, amusing even. It would be fun. What Buffy and Anya earned was a simpering smile that didn’t reach her eyes, which looked very cold and meticulous amid the friendly human composure. The look read- ‘I’m not dumb, so don’t even start to think I am, twits.’
And then she was back to fawning over Xander- lucky guy- whom she was going to treat like a very special vic- er, I mean, guest. Letting her hands fall from the hug around his neck she grabbed lightly at his hand- particularly gentle for some one she was going to feed from later, if Buffy would care to notice- and tugged him in the right direction, which happened to be the one from which he had came. Maybe he would think that she was taking him back to the grave yard? With a smile at Xander, which she made sure reached the eyes; she began to stroll amiably towards The Bronze, him in tow. This would probably look odd to the Scooby Gang, but if they’d ever seen Drusilla as she coaxed Spike to do what she wanted then it would seem familiar. After all, that’s who she’d picked it up from. “I don’t think much of your friends. They can’t see your insides, can they?”

Aww, so it wasn’t all that believable? Naaw, xander had tried his best as well, actually it depended on what you thought ‘best’ was. Soo, maybe he wasn’t all that good at acting, neither was buffy to be honest, actually, it would be quite obvious to Melissa that it was all some crap act. After all, Xander was worrying himself to death a few minutes ago and now he freely chose to go with Melissa. Fun? No way, definitely not. Xander looked back towards Melissa before yawning, this seemed to be dragging on how boring of it. Especially the situation that they were in at the moment, oh how dramatic1 Buffy actually trusted xander on his own when most of the time he was treated like a young kid.
Suddenly he was being pulled in another direction, quite suddenly indeed. Gah, he was going in the same direction he came, and what was worse was the fact that he had came that way from the graveyard, not too great to be honest He smiled back at her, quite sheepishly if you had to describe it. Oh, if Spike or Angel had seen this, Xander, being pulled towards the Bronze, they would have probably have just sat there, puzzled for hours at why Xander of all people was running of to ‘happy land’ with a vampire, Buffy and Anya not too far away from them. “Oh, you don’t shame…” his eyes rolled back towards her again before he continued to speak “Well if they could…I’d be a bit worried…” He looked back towards her again, in such wonder.
OoC: Short crappy post Yay! <3
